I am using everyday objects that create uncanny resemblances to fruit and vegetables. I have a growing interest in fake food.
I am curious about the materials they are made of and their purpose as a popular home decor item.
This is an imagined fruit, it resembles aspects of various fruits and vegetables including their stems and leaves.
I chose to place this fruit underneath a large tree to suit the perspective of the fallen fruit and the distinctive voluptuous features of this magnificent tree.
In this project I explored the joys and frustrations of silicone, I painted layers of silicone to create a realistic stem and leaves.
Materials: Silicone Artificial Stem and Deflated Exercise Ball.
This work was shown in Colac Botanical Gardens in Small Art Treasures 2024.
